Equinix to buy MainOne for $320 million
Equinix, a California-based internet provider, and data center services, announced on Dec. 7th that it will buy MainOne, the West African cable company for $320 million. MainOne assets that will now belong to Equinix as a result of the deal include three operational data centers and one under construction expected to open in the first quarter of 2022. Funke Opeke, MainOne’s founder and CEO, will continue in her role.
Sendown raises $4.5 million
SendOwl, a platform used to sell digital products, has raised $4.5 million in seed funding from Defy.vc. The startup aims proudly to boast employees across three continents and customers in over 50 countries. SendOwl says it has delivered nearly $2 billion of value in digital and virtual goods for tens of thousands of paying merchants across millions of transactions.
Indian SaaS companies are projected to reach $30 billion in revenue
Indian SaaS companies are projected to reach $30 billion in revenue by 2025. The report by Bain & Company said that investments increased by 170% over 2020 and are expected to reach $4.5 billion in 2021. Bain & Co. stated that there will be increased demand for SaaS talent in key functions—for example thrice the current demand for go-to-market, twice the existing demand in product management and engineering.
Frontegg raises $25 million
Frontegg, a Tel Aviv-based startup, announced that it has raised a $25 million Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. As the company’s CEO noted, its service is able to provide customers with all of the day-one tools necessary to build their user management systems, including enterprise features like single sign-on, security policies, and audit logs.
